McDonald’s CEO responds to the inanity of the Center for Science in the Public Interest.
First, the public does not support your lawsuit. Internet sites, blogs and network surveys suggest that public opinion is running overwhelmingly against your premise. Our customer websites and phone lines at McDonald’s are also busy, with more than nine out of ten customers disagreeing with your agenda. Parents, in particular, strongly believe they have the right and responsibility to decide what’s best for their children, not CSPI. It really is that simple.
I wonder if by “blogs” they meant mine. Would it kill ya to give a dude a pingback?

Here’s an hour-long interview with Penn Jillette on BigThink. You should definitely find the time to watch this one.

Time for another episode of Our Tax Dollars at Work:
A federal probe into doping in professional cycling is proceeding quickly, and investigators are currently in discussions with several riders and their attorneys to secure their cooperation after the Tour de France ends later this month.
Calling this a waste of taxpayer dollars is about the biggest understatement one can possibly muster after reading this.

Evangelical Christians seem to have a thing for convicted serial killers.
But in the years Mr. Berkowitz [David Berkowitz, a.k.a. The Son of Sam] has been serving a 25-year-to-life sentence, he has been anything but alone. He has, it turns out, attracted an array of individuals from outside prison who, though they deplore his murderous past, have become friends, acquaintances and in some instances a kind of ad hoc set of assistants.
This circle of admirers, to a great degree, is made up of evangelical Christians, including a Town and Village Courts judge in upstate New York and a financial adviser in Manhattan, who have been moved by Mr. Berkowitz’s story of becoming a born-again Christian 23 years ago, and many of them have sought to publicize his account of redemption.
I guess if you’re looking for someone “God-like” you can’t do much better than a psychotic, heartless murderer.

I wasn’t aware that a group of people is allowed to vote on whether or not a movement is racist. See, I thought a movement is only racist if they’re explicitly racist. Like the KKK. Or the Black Panthers.

This isn’t news, so much as a few updates.
First, I’ve decided to add a new feature to blackjeezus.net: Music Mondays, wherein I post an interesting, provacative, or all-around entertaining music video or song and maybe add some comments. The first one will drop next week, and it’ll be a weekly feature thereafter. So be on the lookout.
Second, fans of the Passive Aggressive Podcast should be pleased to discover that I’ve created an all-new Passive Aggressive Blog, which will feature both Glenn and me (and possibly Sohail) as regular contributors. This way, you’ll be able to get a regular dose of news, views and commentary without having to wait for a new episode. If you like what we do and think you might want to become a contributor, feel free to let me know.
That’s all for now.
